Adopt Group Assignments from SAP Settings (as Alternative to Allevo 1:n Features)

READ_GROUPS_FROM_SAP

* only effective for Allevo 3.3 (extended in 3.4)

Allevo allows to address groups directly in the Allevo Master in order to perform planning oriented towards a group (e.g. by indicating the relevant IDs). For this purpose, Allevo of course needs to recognize whether the current entry on the cost element or on the object is actually a cost element or object or if it is rather a group.

This is primarily controlled by functions of so called „representative cost elements“ or „representative objects“ (see e.g. section “Cost element groups / 1:n setting” in the Allevo SAP manual).

Similar functions can be found in the SAP settings on the Reporting; e.g. in transaction KAH3 to resolve the cost element hierarchy (there, display context menu on the desired cost element group under „Report settings“).This constant permits Allevo to read also this SAP assignment in order to avoid double maintenance. The following rule applies:

·         Entries in the 1:n settings have priority and are therefore generally understood as group.

·         To interpret the original SAP assignments, the constant READ_GROUPS_FROM_SAP must additionally be set with the following settings.

Cost element groups

An entry in column Value from for READ_GROUPS_FROM_SAP controls the transfer of cost element groups; possible options:

·         If „1“ is entered, an ID from Excel is only understood as cost element group provided that a representative cost element is stored in the SAP Reporting.

·         If „2“ is entered, all IDs containing an SAP master record as cost element group are accepted. However, this function is only useful in Allevo Reporting, plan data always require a representative cost element.

·         With no entry in „Value from“, only the Allevo 1:n entries are understood as group.

Object groups (e.g. cost center groups)

From Allevo 3.4 onward, it is also possible to adopt groups for objects via column Value to.  Here, only the entry „1“ is allowed: this means that only groups with an entry as representative object are accepted in SAP Reporting.

The feature is available for reading reference data, the display of line items and for the structure of the object list in the Tree. When starting via a representative object, all data concerning the stored group are automatically read (WITHOUT a request). The constant may affect the behavior of MULTI_WITH_GROUPS („2“ acts as „1“).

Instead of reading the SAP groups automatically, SAP assignments may also be adopted to the Allevo tables manually (see corresponding button „From SAP“ the respective maintenance dialog on 1:n settings).

Note:

Allevo reads the entries from the settings for SAP reports in the respective planning transaction (or also Reporting). If an Excel entry points to a valid group, this will be treated in the same manner as a group with the usual Allevo 1:n settings.

This applies to reading, planning and line items; there are still restrictions for the report-report-interface and possibly for the application of MOD and BAdIs.

* New from version 3.4

Entry in column Value to controls the adoption of data for object groups (e.g. for the cost center group).
