Meaning of a Satellite /KERN/IPPSATxx

In Allevo, data of a detailed planning are usually stored in satellites (/KERN/IPPSATxx) created in SAP as /KERN/IPPSATxx. The actual importance of a table for the final customer results only from the way a customized append is created.  For the display functions in Allevo, it is useful if this customized meaning is also reflected by the name/descripiton of the satellite (instead of technical names of the standard delivery). also reflects in the Für Anzeigefunktionen im Allevo ist es sinnvoll, wenn diese Kunden-individuelle Bedeutung sich auch in der Bezeichnung/Beschreibung der Satellitentabelle wiederspiegelt (also Ersatz für technische Namen der Standardauslieferung).

By entering a name in colum Value from, the function of a satellite for the application by the customer is described. Durch den Eintrag einer Bezeichnung in der Spalte Wert von wird die Funktion eines Satelliten in der Anwendung beim Kunden beschrieben. Today, this entry may only be made in the * layout or as global parameter.

It is optionally possible to maintain language-dependent texts. The corresponding name scheme <SATxx_TAB_NAM_yy> with yy as desired language. Example: Constant SAT10_TAB_NAM_EN defines a different text in English for satellite 10.

Important: In current Allevo versions, you may also predefine a satellite description directly with the assignment to a specific topic. This approach complies with the cross-layout meaning of satellites.

Text determination: Many Allevo features (e.g. Shuttle) require the selection of a satellite. Therefore, also the appropriate text must be determined, e.g. for the F4 value aid. This may lead to the following search sequence:

1 Language-dependent text from * layout (via <SATxx_TAB_NAM_yy>)

2 Language-dependent text in the global parameters

3 General text in * layout (via SATxx_TAB_NAM)

4 General text in the global parameters

5 Text from the specific topics

6 Established term of the Allevo basic installation, so “Allevo Satellit xx“

Depending on the calling site (e.g. in additional modules such as actuals), the search is performed only partly, since the dependence on layouts or object type may not be given.

Note:

This constant, however, does not change the technical SAP names of tables or the range names in Excel.  The entry only changes the name displayed to the Allevo user.

Language-dependent texts via constant with name scheme is SATxx_TAB_NAM_yy.

Satellites usually have overriding importance, it is therefore little useful to maintain the text specifically for each layout. The text is now consistently stored on the level of the * layout. Without an entry here, the default entry of the table on specific topics will be used.
